A total of 26146 vacancies have been announced, including 23347 for male candidates and 2799 for female candidates. Application Fee
- The application fee is Rs 100.
- Women, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) do not have to pay the fee.
- The fee can be paid online only.
- The fee cannot be refunded.
Pay Scale
- The starting pay for SSC GD Constable is Rs 21,700.
- The maximum pay for SSC GD Constable is Rs 69,100.
Age Limit for SSC GD Constable 2024
- The age limit for SSC GD Constable is 18-23 years.
- Candidates should not have been born earlier than January 2, 2001, and later than January 1, 2006.
- There are age relaxations for different categories, as follows:
- Scheduled Castes (SC)/ Scheduled Tribes (ST): 5 years
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deducting the military service rendered
- Children and dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat:
- Unreserved/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 5 years
- OBC: 8 years
- SC/ ST: 10 years
Date of Birth
- The date of birth filled by the candidate in the online application form and the same recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age.
- No subsequent request for change will be considered or granted.
Educational Qualifications for SSC GD Constable 2024
Educational Qualifications
- Candidates must have passed the 10th class examination from a recognized board/university.
- Candidates who have not passed the 10th class examination by the stipulated date will not be eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have passed the 10th class examination through open and distance learning mode will be eligible if their degrees are recognized by the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission.
- All candidates will be required to produce their original matriculation certificates at the time of document verification.
- Candidates who have NCC certificates will be given bonus marks.
NCC Certificate Incentive

- Candidates who claim NCC certificate bonus marks must have opted for bonus marks/incentive for ‘NCC certificate’ in the online application.
- The benefit of NCC Certificate Holder will be confirmed only on production of the original certificate supporting their claims at the time of document verification.
Important Dates
- The crucial date for claiming NCC certificate bonus marks is the closing date of receipt of online applications.
- This benefit is not available for Ex-servicemen.
