Chief Minister KCR has introduced a new scheme called Kanti Velugu to help blind and visually impaired people in Telangana. This scheme provides free eye screening, spectacles, and treatment for common eye ailments to all citizens of Telangana, regardless of age, income, or location. Kanti Velugu has been a huge success. It has helped to restore sight to thousands of people who had lost it due to preventable causes. It has also helped to improve the quality of life of millions of people who were living with vision problems.

The Kanti Velugu scheme is a flagship program of the Telangana government that aims to provide universal eye care to all citizens of the state, regardless of age, income, or location. The scheme was launched on 15/08/2018 in Medak District by Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao.

తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం ప్రతిష్టాత్మక కార్యక్రమం కాంతి వెలుగు. ఈ పథకం కింద తెలంగాణలోని అన్ని వర్గాల ప్రజలకు ఉచిత కంటి పరీక్షలు, కళ్లద్దాలు, సాధారణ కంటి వ్యాధుల చికిత్స అందించబడుతుంది. ఈ పథకం కింద కంటి శుక్లాలు, గ్లాకోమా, ఇతర తీవ్రమైన కంటి వ్యాధులకు ఉచిత శస్త్రచికిత్స కూడా అందించబడుతుంది.

కాంతి వెలుగు పథకం తెలంగాణలో విశేషంగా విజయవంతమైంది. ఈ పథకం మొదటి దశలో 3.7 కోట్లకు పైగా ప్రజలకు కంటి పరీక్షలు నిర్వహించారు. వీరిలో 1.2 కోట్లకు పైగా మందికి కళ్లద్దాలు అవసరమని తేలింది మరియు వారికి ఉచితంగా కళ్లద్దాలు అందించారు. 1.7 లక్షలకు పైగా మందికి కంటి శుక్లాలు మరియు ఇతర కంటి వ్యాధులకు శస్త్రచికిత్సలు నిర్వహించారు.

How to avail Kanti Velugu scheme in Telangana

Kanti Velugu is a free eye care program for all citizens of Telangana. You can visit a Kanti Velugu camp or PHC in your area to avail of the scheme. The camps are set up in villages, grama panchayats, GHMC municipal offices, wards, and other government places. Each camp has 4-6 medical members and all the necessary tools, materials, and medicines for eye testing, check-ups, and treatment.

Steps to avail Kanti Velugu scheme:

• Visit a Kanti Velugu camp or PHC in your area.
• Register for the scheme and provide your basic details.
• Get your eyes screened and examined by a doctor.
• If you need glasses, they will be provided to you free of cost.
• If you need any other treatment, such as surgery, you will be referred to a specialized hospital.

Eye safety tips: కంటి భద్రత చిట్కాలు:

• Use black glasses when using crackers.
• Consume more carrots and other foods rich in vitamins A and C on a regular basis.
• Contact a doctor whenever you experience any eye problems.
• Take help from others when using eye drops.
• Use glasses and a helmet when riding.
• Whenever working or playing with colours, in factories, welding, stone cutting, wood cutting, or around agricultural chemicals, use safety glasses.
• Don’t spend too much time looking at digital screens.
