The online application process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 has started. Eligible candidates can now apply for the exam through the official JEE Main website. In this blog i will provide a step-by-step guide to applying for JEE Mains registration and form filling.
JEE Main Overview
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a national-level engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various undergraduate engineering programs in India, including the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs).

JEE Main Eligibility
To be eligible for JEE Main, candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent with at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates appearing in class 12 or its equivalent examination in the current year are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates.
- Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have passed one of the following examinations:
- The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board.
- Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
- Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
- A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration.
- Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination.
- In case the Class 12 Examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.
- Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination: Only candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or those who are appearing in the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2024, are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2024.

The JEE Main application process consists of three stages: new registration, online form filling, and fee’s payment. We will go through each step by step. Please ensure you have all the necessary documents before starting the application process.

- Step 1:- Apply for Online Registration.
- Step 2:- Fill Online Application Form.
- Step 3:- Fee Payment.
Step 1:- JEE Main Online Registration Process
This is the first step of the JEE Main application process. If you are not yet registered on the JEE Main portal, you can begin the registration process here. If you are already registered, you can proceed to the next step of filling out the application form
- Visit the JEE Main Apply Portal
- Click on the “Click Here” link provided in the instructions.
- Create a New Account
- Click on the “New Candidate Registration Here” option located on the left side of the page.
- Review Information and Download Information Bulletin
- A new page will appear with information about the fee structure and other details. You can also download the Information Bulletin in PDF format. Scroll down and tick the declaration box, then click “Continue.”
- Choose Login Option
- The login option will appear. Read the instructions carefully and select your desired option. Then, click “Continue.”
- Complete Registration Form
- The registration page will appear. Enter your personal details, including your name, address, and preferred password. Enter your Personal details as per your 10th/SSC certificate.
- Review and Submit Registration Form
- Once you have filled in all the required details, click “Continue” to submit your registration form. A new preview page will appear. Review your information carefully, tick the declaration box, and click “Submit.”
- Verify OTP and Receive Application Number
- You will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) via SMS and email. Enter the OTP and click “Continue.” You will then receive your application number via email and SMS. The page will redirect to the home page.
- Registration Complete
- Your registration process is now complete. You can proceed to the next step of filling the application form.
Step 2:- JEE Main Fill Online Application Form
- Get your Application Number
After completing the registration process, you will receive your application number via SMS or email. - Login to Application Portal
Use your application number and password to log in to the application portal. - Access Application Form
On the main page, click on the “Complete Application Form” option.
- Fill in Application Details
The application form will appear. Start filling in your details accurately, including contact information, personal information, exam center preferences, qualification details, additional details, emergency contact information, and document uploads. Ensure that your personal details match those on your SSC/10th certificate.
- Continue and Verify Mobile Number
Once you have filled in all the required details, click “Continue” to proceed. You will be prompted to verify your mobile number. Enter the OTP received via SMS and click “Continue.” - Proceed to Payment Page
After mobile verification, you will be redirected to the Home page, next step fee payment.
Step 3:- JEE Main Fee Payment
- Return to Home Page
After filling out the application form, you will be redirected to the home page. - Start Payment
Click on the “Pay Now” option located on the home page. - Review Fee Details
A new page will appear displaying the fee details, including the total fee amount. - Proceed with Payment
Click on the “Pay Now” button to proceed with the payment.
- Choose Payment Method
A list of payment options will appear. Select your preferred payment method and follow the instructions to complete the payment process. - Logout After Payment
Upon successful payment, you will be logged out of the application portal. - Log In Again
Log back in to the application portal using your application number and password. - Verify Completion
Once logged in, you will see a message indicating that the entire application process has been completed. - Download Application Form
Click on the “Download Application” option to download the PDF version of your application form.
- Application Process Complete
The complete JEE Main application process is now finished. Your application has been submitted and your application form has been downloaded.
