Jagananna Ammavodi is a welfare scheme launched by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to provide financial assistance to mothers or recognized guardians in the absence of mothers, who are below poverty line, to enable them to educate their children from Class I to XII (Intermediate Education) in all recognized Government, Private Aided, and Private Unaided schools/ Jr. Colleges, including Residential Schools/Colleges in the State.

Benefits

• Rs. 15,000 financial assistance, irrespective of the number of children.
• The amount is directly deposited into the beneficiaries’ savings bank accounts in January every year until the child completes Class 12.

Eligibility

• Must be a legal resident of Andhra Pradesh.
• Must be from a BPL household with a white ration card.
• The student must be studying in a government school/junior college between Class 1 and 12.

To check Amma Vodi status:

• Open the official GSWs NBM portal.
• Select the Amma Vodi option in the schemes list, Select the year, Enter your Aadhaar number in the UID field, Enter the captcha and click on the Get OTP option.

• An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter the OTP.
• Your Amma Vodi status details will be fetched.

• You can check your Amma Vodi payment status in the Payment Details section. You can also see the bank account details where the amount was deposited.

On June 28, the government deposited INR 6,392.94 crore into the accounts of 42,61,965 mothers in the state. However, some mothers’ accounts did not receive the deposit. The government has assured these mothers that the money will be deposited into their accounts between July 10 and 16.
