If you have some basic knowledge, you can proceed with the online registration. Otherwise, it is suggested to contact a genuine vendor, as they will handle the entire process for you.

Let’s go through the rooftop solar consumer registration process online:

• Visit the national portal for rooftop solar.
• On the home page, click on the “Apply for rooftop solar” option.
• Click on the “Register here” option. If you already have an account, log in.
• After clicking on register, a form will open. Select your state, power distribution company, district, and consumer account number, then continue.
• Enter your mobile number and email; an OTP will be sent to the provided details. Enter it and proceed.
• A verification link will be sent to your email; verify it and log in to the portal. Now, your registration is completed.

• After logging in, you will reach the rooftop solar application form page. On the left sidebar, you can see the steps involved. On the right side, enter details for the application:

Procedure for Installation of Rooftop Solar Panels

After submitting the online application for rooftop solar, there are additional steps involved in completing the installation process. Here is a simplified version:

  • After installation, provide details on the portal and upload a photo of you with the panels.
• 6. Inspection:
  • DISCOM officials will inspect the system and install a net-meter if everything’s good.
• 7. Commissioning:
  • DISCOM will approve the installation online, generating a commissioning certificate in your account.
• 8. Claim Subsidy:
  • Use the certificate to request the government subsidy online. Provide your bank details and a cancelled cheque or passbook copy.

  • If all details are correct, the subsidy will be directly deposited into your bank account within 30 days!

• On the home page’s left side, find ‘Empanelled Vendors by DISCOM’ and select it.
• A list of vendors will appear; use the search bar to enter the state name, and the relevant list will be displayed.

• Choose your distributor and click on the ‘Click here‘ option.
• The list of empanelled vendors will appear; check each one and choose the best one to continue your journey.
