After the year 2020, the CEIR portal gained momentum, with some telecommunication brands integrating under it. If your mobile phone is stolen or lost, follow this guide to block it. Before proceeding, file a complaint at your nearest police station with valid documents. Include a letter detailing how, when, and where your mobile phone was stolen or lost, along with your personal and mobile details. Once you have the police complaint report, begin the online blocking process:

  • Visit the ceir.gov.in
  • In the CEIR services option, select the “Block Stolen/Lost Mobile” option.

  1. The application form will open, consisting of three sections:
    • a. Device Information: Enter your stolen/lost mobile details, including mobile number, IMEI numbers, device brand, and model. If you have an invoice, upload it. You can also use the mobile box receipt.
    • b. Lost Information: Provide details about the loss, such as the location where the mobile was lost, the exact date, address, and the nearest police station. Mention the complaint number and upload the police complaint.

  • If you encounter any errors, you can visit your concerned police station with the application.

  1. KYM through SMS: If you want to know your KYM with just a simple and single SMS, then use this method. Just SMS your 15-digit IMEI number to 14422. Follow this format: KYM<15 Digits IMEI No.> to 14422.
  2. KYM through KYM App: Another easy method is to directly download the KYM mobile app. Enter the mobile IMEI number and then click on check. The mobile KYM details will then be displayed.
  3. KYM through Web Portal: Another easy method that doesn’t require opening another app is to use your browser.
